True Meditation by Adyashanti

But all it really takes is a willingness to look into the depths of your experience here and now". Global Peace Flags
West Wind Flags are created in the spirit of the ancient Tibetan Buddhist Prayer Flags that are hung in the mountains of Tibet and throughout Nepal. Flying on rooftops of homes and monasteries, from bridges and trees in the countryside, they offer blessings on the wind. This beautiful tradition dates back to the 10th century.
As the flags wave in the wind, the colors fade, and so the prayers are lifted and carried around the world. Prayer flags are hung with respect and intention to celebrate new beginnings: a new relationship, a new home, a birth, a new journey and always the New Year! They help insure luck and success for new ventures. When they are tattered and worn out, it is customary to burn them. May they benefit all beings.
Our flags are respectfully made in Kathmandu, Nepal by Buddhist printmakers. The flags are made of 100% cotton. We have developed an excellent relationship with our printers and all of the West Wind Flags are fair trade products.
Set includes 5 flags, 6 inches x 8 inches.
Set hangs 3 1/2 feet wide.
West Wind donates 10% of sales from Global Peace Flags to 'The Hunger Project', in recognition and support of its outstanding work to improve the lives of girls in developing countries. Please read more about 'The Hunger Project' online: www.thp.org/girls

How Can I Help? by Ram Dass and Paul Gorman
Not a day goes by without our being called upon to help one another - at home, at work, on the street, on the phone... We do what we can. Yet so much comes up to complicate this natural response: "Will I have what it takes?" "How much is enough?" "How can I deal with suffering?" "And what really helps, anyway?"
In this practical helper's companion, the authors explore a path through these confusions and provide support and inspiration for us in our efforts as volunteers, as members of the helping professions, or simply as friends and family trying to meet each other's needs. Here too are deeply moving personal accounts: A housewife brings animals to lift the spirits of nursing home residents; a police officer talks a desperate father out of leaping from a roof with his child; a nurse allows an infant to spend its last moments of life in her arms rather than on a hospital machine. From many such stories and the authors' reflections, we can find strength, clarity, and wisdom for those times when we are called on to care for one another. How Can I Help? reminds us just how much we have to give and how doing so can lead to some of the most joyous moments of our lives.
The Power of a Broken-Open Heart by Julie Interrante, MA
Building on her decades of work in hospital and hospice care, in this illuminating book Julie Inerttante weaves together insights from those facing great challenge with her own discoveries to reveal the importance of embracing pain. Whether sparked by the loss of a friend or loved one, a pet or long-held belief, a job or a marriage, a home and community, or physical capacity, pain breaks open the heart, catalyzing great courage, trust, and creativity for living life joyfully. It also heightens our attunement to nature's cycle of seasons, as well as our own, which moves us full tilt into our living and eventually into our dying.
The Power of a Broken-Open Heart is not an instruction manual. Nor is it a set of religious guidelines. Rather, it is a down-to-earth exploration of vulnerability and change. Ultimately it offers a new lens on life's gift of transitions.
